Tascify is an app that helps children earn screen time by completing tasks their parent approves. This policy explains what we do — and mostly don't do — with your family's information.

- Photos of your child never leave their phone. If your child photographs a finished task, it stays on their device and is deleted once the task is decided. We never upload, store, or see it.
- We don't track your child's app usage or browsing. Tascify uses Apple's Screen Time system to lock and unlock apps. Which apps your child uses, and their browsing, are never visible to us — Apple keeps that on the device.
- No advertising. No third-party trackers. No data brokers. We never sell or share your family's data for marketing.
- Children don't create accounts. Only the parent signs in, with an email. The child's device joins the family with a one-time pairing code — no child login, no child email.
What we collect, and why
We collect the minimum needed to run the service. All of it is stored in the EU (Ireland).
| Information | From | Why | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Parent email address | Parent | Sign the parent in (one-time code) and identify the family | Performance of a contract |
| Child's first name | Entered by the parent | Personalise the child's screen | Parental consent |
| Tasks, approvals, earned/spent minutes | Created in the app | Run the earn-and-spend system and keep a fair record | Performance of a contract |
| Device notification token | Family devices | Send notifications (task submitted, task approved) | Consent — you can disable notifications any time |
| App-open record (date only, once per day) | Family devices | Understand whether families keep using Tascify, so we can improve it | Legitimate interest in improving the service |
| Feedback you send us | Parent (optional) | Respond to and act on your feedback | Consent — only if you choose to send it |
| On-device settings, cached tasks/wallet, locked-app selection | The device | Keep the app working, including offline | Stored only on the device |
The app-open record and feedback are handled by us in our own EU database. They are not third-party analytics or advertising tools, and they are never used to profile a child.
What we do not collect
- Proof photos — they never leave the device; we have no photo storage.
- Your child's app usage, screen-time activity, browsing history, or location — Apple's Screen Time keeps this on the device and never shares it with us. The list of apps set to lock is stored on the device as codes we cannot read as app names.
- Any behavioural or advertising profile of any user, child or adult.
- Payment or financial information — the app is free. Any future payment would be handled by Apple, not us.
Who we share information with
We use a small number of service providers who handle data only on our instructions, under contract. We do not sell or share your data with anyone for their own purposes.
- Supabase — our database and sign-in provider. Hosted in the EU (Ireland).
- Resend — sends the parent's sign-in email. EU region.
- Apple — delivers notifications and provides the Screen Time system your device uses.
Children's privacy
Tascify is designed for families with children (roughly ages 6–11) and is built to be child-data-minimal by design:
- A child never creates an account, provides an email, or logs in.
- The only personal data about the child is a first name, entered by the parent, who consents to this on the child's behalf and can withdraw that consent at any time.
- We collect no contact details, no location, and no advertising profile of a child.
- Proof photos never leave the child's device.
In Ireland the age of digital consent is 16. Because the parent sets up the account and provides the child's information, the parent gives and controls that consent.
Where your data is stored
Family account data is stored in the EU (Ireland). Sign-in emails are sent via an EU-region provider. Notifications are delivered by Apple, which may involve transfers outside the EU under appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep it
We keep your family's account data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from inside the app (parent dashboard → settings → Delete account), which permanently removes your family's data. If you ask us to delete your data instead, we remove it within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep something. On-device data is removed when the app is deleted.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to processing, receive a copy (portability), and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email hello@tascify.ie and we'll respond within the time the law requires (usually one month).
You also have the right to complain to the Irish supervisory authority: the Data Protection Commission — dataprotection.ie.
How we protect your data
Access is restricted so one family can never see another's. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our providers. The most sensitive material — proof photos — never leaves the device at all.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
